“The opening title track is a nice slice of dirty rock’n’roll with thunderous guitars. There is more of a Doors-inspired blues feel to ‘Red Dog’, a killer track best played loud through a decent set of cans. Third track ‘Hidden Glove’ is a slice of 60′s mod-inspired psychedelia akin to The Creation.
The band’s full diversity is evident on ‘Break of Dawn’; it’s a classic and my favourite track on the EP with a vocal that reminded me of The Verve at their very best. I’m not sure even with that praise that I have done it justice. Hell, it’s one of the best tunes I have heard this year!”

“Just when you’re feeling a little jaded with the music scene, along comes a record that jolts you out of your complacency and blows your fucking head off.
The 66 have put together a record that draws from a varied range of influences, however rather just sowing them together to create some bland patchwork; they’ve all been seamlessly woven to create something vibrant and energetic. This is music that’s dripping with passion from a band that’s flexing its muscles and getting ready to hit the big-time. Remember where you heard it first. “

“If it were possible to merge The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Doors and The Music into one, then the result would be the sound of The 66. This is music that enters the mind, treats the grey matter like a dancefloor before moving to live happily ever after inside the soul. “

“As The 66 gather momentum it definitely won’t be long before something big happens – in fact I already think it is… Whilst the roots of the City’s last big scene date back almost two decades The 66 are the sound of today’s next generation.”
-Jon (Editor), Manchester Music
“Their name has been ingrained in my sub-conscience for several weeks now, to the extent that I am slightly nervous before seeing them, for fear of disappointment. I shouldn’t have worried. This band is truly epic “

“Just occasionally, a band walks onstage and for half an hour, shakes a small corner of the world from its axis. Tonight is one of those very special nights “
-Mike Nuttall, allgigs.co.uk (May 09, 2008)
“Think of Primal Scream when they really rock out with the loose-limbed post-baggy acid blues, and then imagine if they were still in their teens, or not far off. And fuck, can these lads play. Not only in terms of ability and togetherness, but they’ve got the performance bit nailed down too.”
-Cath Aubergine, Manchester Music (Jun 20, 2008)
“The 66 channel their garage punk wares into some highly attractive pop terrain- and they know the worth of being jammed between 65 and 67 too….so, yeah, you could mention The Creation or The Seeds but we settle on a blistering blend of The Vines and New York Dolls. “
- Bugbear,Bugbear Bookings(Aug 26, 2009)
“With only a handful of songs on Myspace, they show an unusual naturalness for Rock and Pop that has left me in awe. “
-Odio la música (Jun 10, 2008)
“‘Firefly’ are nine of the most highly charged minutes of live music you will see this side of The Verve. The 66 look ready for bigger things and more importantly sound ready. Now the world just needs to listen.”
-Mike Nuttal, allgigs.co.uk (Oct 06, 2008)
“From the off it’s clear that front man Daniel Rimmer, comes from Tom Meighan school of rock. It’s not just the Paisley shirt and hair he shares with the Kasabian mouth piece, there are the familiar Primal Scream and Rolling Stones nuances, throbbing dance beats and guitar hooks.”
-Lisa Southern, Liverpool Echo (May 25, 2009)
“The 66, a youthful but confident synthesised techno group with echoes of Kasabian and the Charlatans running through many of their spine-tingling offerings. They may well be the dark horses for the blue riband for up-and-coming bands at next month’s three-festival at Whatcroft. “
-Ben Coulbeck, Mid Cheshire Chronicle (Jun 17, 2008)
“Something has to be in the water in the UK and this new group is proof that they drink from the same well like many others with musical quality. Listening to their Melodies it is easy to associate them with a Massive band, although this is just the beginning…”
-Cerebros Azules, Blue Brains (Jun 11, 2006)
“It’s the 66 and it’s class, don’t touch that dial..”
- Clint Boon,XFM
“The 66 should be heard and seen live by the world.. an absolutely brilliant band.”
-Little Red, Manchester Radio Online
“Take a singer from the Ian Brown school of stage presence with fire in his eyes and a skintight paisley shirt, a big pile of young hungry energy, some golden-age Stones via Primal Scream grit, driving rhythms, light the touchpaper and watch them go.”
-Manchester Music
“The band’s Myspace page tagline reads ‘Good evening Wembley!’, and I think they’re only half joking; there’s just something about these lads that says massive”
-Cath Aubergine, Manchester Music
